Dunker earns third Association of Division III Independents men’s cross country Runner of the Week awardKANSAS CITY, Mo. – Nebraska Wesleyan University junior Chris Dunker (Beatrice, Neb.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents men’s cross country Runner of the Week for the third time this season. Dunker claimed runner-up honors in 25:54.76 at the Great Plains Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday in Blair, Neb., and led NWU to the men’s team title in the process. The Prairie Wolves had four runners in the top 10 and finished with 37 team points to win the meet by 16.

Hubbard receives fourth Association of Division III Independents women’s cross country Runner of the Week honorKANSAS CITY, Mo. – Nebraska Wesleyan University junior Brittany Hubbard (Gering, Neb.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women’s cross country Runner of the Week for the fourth time this season. Hubbard repeated as the Great Plains Athletic Conference individual women’s champion in 19:02.15 and led NWU to the GPAC team title on Saturday in Blair, Neb. She topped the field of 95 competitors, and along with four teammates who placed in the top 10, helped the Prairie Wolves win the 12-team even with just 23 points (53 fewer than the second place team).

Wondolowski receives Association of Division III Independents men’s soccer Player of the Week awardKANSAS CITY, Mo. – University of California-Santa Cruz senior forward/defender Steve Wondolowski (Danville, Calif.) is this week’s Association of Division III Independents men’s soccer Player of the Week. Wondolowski netted a pair of goals in a 5-0 win over Claremont, extending the Banana Slugs’ win streak to 14 games. Wondolowski, who is coached by Dan Chamberlain, has 14 goals on the season and has helped his team to a 17-1 overall record.

Crisp honored as Association of Division III Independents women’s soccer Player of the WeekKANSAS CITY, Mo. – Saint Joseph’s College (Maine) senior midfielder Michelle Crisp (Dedham, Mass.) is this week’s Association of Division III Independents women’s soccer Player of the Week. In a 1-1 week, Crisp scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner against the University of Maine-Presque Isle. The Monks, who are coached by Michael Bolanz, are currently 10-7 overall.

Hames named Association of Division III Independents volleyball Player of the WeekKANSAS CITY, Mo. – University of Dallas senior middle blocker Taryn Hames (El Cajon, Calif.) has been selected as the Association of Division III Independents volleyball Player of the Week. Hames led the team in four matches with 47 kills, seven solo blocks and four assisted blocks. She averaged 3.13 kills per game on her way to a .477 hitting percentage on the week. The co-captain helped her team to a record-breaking 11-match win streak to close out the regular season. The Crusaders carry an overall record of 21-14, which is a new school record for win percentage.
