Timblin tabbed as Association of Division III Independents men’s cross country Runner of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Nebraska Wesleyan University senior Greg Timblin (Greenwood, Neb.) is this week’s Association of Division III Independents men’s cross country Runner of the Week. Timblin placed 54th out of 312 competitors (mainly NCAA Div. I) at the Stanford University Invitational in Stanford, Calif., on Sept. 29. He completed the 8K course in 25:16 and helped the Prairie Wolves place 17th out of 32 teams.

 

Hubbard receives Association of Division III Independents women’s cross country Runner of the Week honor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Nebraska Wesleyan University senior Brittany Hubbard (Gering, Neb.) is this week’s Association of Division III Independents women’s cross country Runner of the Week. Hubbard placed 42nd out of 241 competitors (mainly NCAA Div. I) at the Stanford University Invitational in Stanford, Calif., on Sept. 29. She completed the 6K course in 22:10 and helped NWU place 15th out of 28 teams.

 

Deltgen earns Association of Division III Independents men’s soccer Player of the Week award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Mitchell College junior forward Adam Deltgen (Norwich, Conn.) is this week’s Association of Division III Independents men’s soccer Player of the Week. Deltgen scored four goals in two wins for the Pequots this week. In Mitchell’s first win of the season, Deltgen netted the tying goal to send the game into overtime and later added the game-winner in the first overtime giving his team a 3-2 victory. In Saturday’s 4-3 win over Lyndon State, he notched a second-half goal along with the game-winner in double overtime.

 

Clem receives second Association of Division III Independents women’s soccer Player of the Week honor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Salem College freshman forward Liz Clem (Merced, Calif.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women’s soccer Player of the Week. Clem scored five goals and added an assist in two victories to help raise Salem’s record to 10-0-1 on the season. Clem scored once as Salem defeated Randolph College, 3-2, on Saturday and netted four goals and an assist on Sunday as the Spirits shut out Wesleyan of Georgia, 9-0.

 

Thomsen named Association of Division III Independents volleyball Player of the Week for second time

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Nebraska Wesleyan University senior libero Linsey Thomsen (Beatrice, Neb.) has been selected as the Association of Division III Independents volleyball Player of the Week. Thomsen averaged 7.58 digs per game last week as NWU faced a trio of regionally ranked teams. She had 38 digs in a five-set loss to NAIA Region III No. 6 Doane College and had 34 in a four-set win over NAIA Region III No. 7 Dordt College. Thomsen erred only three times in 85 reception attempts (.965) and also served her way to a .919 percentage. Her 91 digs on the week extended her own school record. The Prairie Wolves are now 8-5 overall.

The Association of Division III Independents Player of the Week awards program begins on September 3, 2007 and is based on nominations from the organization's member schools.
